Diwali Banner1

Let me breathe… I am a flower girl… let me have flowers… let me have flowering plants… I don’t want my shopping list to have pollution control masks… nebulisers… air purifiers…

I don’t want to travel miles to exchange gifts, sweets and wish each other happy Diwali… I rather do a video conference, smile and say… happy Diwali… I don’t want to add pollution by travelling any extra miles on the road…

I can repeat my clothes… I will look good anyways… someone once told me… no one remembers what you wore the other day… why do I bother so much…

I don’t want to waste money on imported lights to decorate my house… let me light clay Diyas in my house… so what if my home has twinkling lights for a few hours… but this light is lighting someone else’s home too…

Let the money I win in the card games go to charity… I know we bond on games and cards… I will play games but the winning amount will give education to many…

Let me be not a part of the party if I don’t do crackers… let me not buy the idea of burning one single firecracker calling it as auspicious or in the name of Diwali and festivity…

Let me breathe… let me have some more plants in my house… let me plant some plants in your house… as I care for my loved ones… and I care for the people who I don’t know…

Let me be the light of someone’s home… I know I am part of the social set up… at the same time I know I am the change…

Let me do my bit… let me breathe… let me plant some plants… let me give some plants…

Happy Diwali!
