Ahah…it’s Wednesday again…I am blessed to have so many of you reading my blogs…I am a happy soul…who goes through life every day…every moment… I am not anyone special… yet we all are special in our own ways…we are creating experiences memories…some great…some sad…that’s life to me…

Where to start?

This week I mostly dedicated to meet experts and consultants for my daughter’s education and college admissions… BTW she is in class 9… Why so early? I hear everyone talking and getting concerned about the college admissions, so I thought of putting my house in order too… it’s not just admissions… in my mind, a child needs to know his/her interest in a particular field…

So I met a very old friend of mine Amisha – Amisha – A Hotelier by Education, Marketer by profession, Life coach for children by passion. Consumer Insights drive her… who is consulting schools … to understand the process… few takeaways… no shortcuts… explore and understand your interest… pick up sports or classic dance form… it helps you to focus and to get disciplined… express yourself… use social media for expressions… start documentation…

I visited collegify… liked the institutional approach towards the career and admissions… again more or less the similar advice…

I met Puja Bahri again… for art portfolio and skill development for my daughter… lots and lots of exciting and helpful ideas sharing with lots of laughter and brightness…

Again the advices were… take any art and expression forms… be real… document your work… pick an actual social cause … learn the skills… it’s a journey… build your portfolio in class 11… One year is good for portfolio building…

Ah! I am happy… one task is out of my mind for a while.

Now what I did over the week… let me go very quick… I ate at grammar room at Olive Qutub…

Had lunch with family…

Been there many times… one of the attendants… never fails to get my notice and appreciation… his professionalism and mannerism… it’s a pleasure… the way food is served… its very home like experience… so I thought of mentioning him… asked his name… Steven…

Andrea’s salad and pizza… had lunch with a friend… oh I love Andrea’s salad…

Sunday a quick lunch at Select city mall’s food court… though it’s very crowded… but very convenient…

Wan Chai the Chinese food in the food court is our favourite… maximum waiting for the food there but it still is worth going there…

And how we connect over food… a non-foodie like me, realised this Sunday… my husband and others eat samosas and patties on Sunday… I always stayed away for calories reasons… this Sunday I happened to be there… I joined the feast and realised… what I was missing out… it was a bonding time over the food and over casual talk…

Now last on the food…

I cooked … why I cooked … when you see the happiness on the faces of your family when you cook the same rajma chawal your cook makes… like a child they say “it was so tasty… please make it again” the profession shifts from work to the kitchen… because you are a wife and also a mom…

Now kitchen to work… one art to another…

We designed and co-worked with an international designer Roberto for Mr. K P Singh the DLF group… a very prestigious project… it was a great experience and a great learning too…

We supported a cause by Co-partnering in a fundraising event with Mr. Aanand Kapoor, he is the President of the Creative Services Support Group. He is also the co-founder and Director of Image Foundry Studios, which has been part of the winning team for several international film and television awards including an Emmy and Bafta for the firm. He founded CSSG after extensive travel where he witnessed the efficacy and potential of the creative sectors towards aiding poverty…. we created a theme around organic herb garden grown by underprivileged kids… my soul was happy …

I and my little me…  no more a little girl… we watched an old movie… we have watched it many times together “We are family”. Kajol and Karina starrer… we watched and cried throughout the movie… I was surprised at myself… I was an emotional child again… it’s a must watch… we bonded… we created memories… One we can laugh when she grows up and hopefully can watch and cry with her kids also…

I am reading Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse… I started reading “Vintage Chughtai – A selection of her best stories” for sipping thoughts Book club… I saw the notification of book being discussed at book club happening @Zorba the Buddha… though I could not attend due to some work commitment… but it is enlightening and pleasure to read the book… must read…

My visit to the art studio by and seeing this young underprivileged boy doing amazing art…

Now my week with the right kind of clothes and shoes… every day I need to keep 15 minutes extra to find the right pairing of clothes and shoes… it’s a food for the creative soul and sometimes a frustration too…

We bought a pair of flared jeans for my daughter… she is equally fussy… we were in the lookout for that pair of jeans for a long time … finally found in MANGO and we are happy…

No plastic is a big challenge… I am trying but the change is very slow… I know I cannot do it alone… but I am doing my bit… I collected a week of garbage in my house… so I could explain the staff and drivers the seriousness of this…I am trying… I am doing my bit…

News that bothered me and shook me up was the train accident in Amritsar…how… how can we be so reckless… careless and inhuman in our approach… CHALTA HAI… AS IT’S NOT HAPPENING TO US…

When a family is killed by your own security officer… depression… frustration… why is it overpowering… why is it killing innocent people… wish we all could make this world a happier place to be in…

Ravan burning… yes or no… mixed opinions…I am not in favour of burning Ravan or burning a single stick of firecracker… the extremity of pollution is killing in our country… at least for a few years, I think we should stop all the fun and celebrations and religious belief leading to pollution… what’s the point of creating Ganesha or Durga idols… spending millions of rupees and polluting the rivers… and not able to immerse them in the shallow and dirty water… I rather make an e-commerce friendly small idol or help a girl child… plant a tree… save the earth than celebrating festivities in this scale… I have my own opinion about Ravan burning…
